WINGATE — Mrs. Elodie Williams, lifelong resident of the Wingate community, died at 4:58 a.m. Thursday in Culver Hospital. Mrs. Williams, 77, had been a patient since July 13. The deceased was a member of the Wingate United Methodist Church and Juno Temple of the Pythian Sisters. Born on July 13, 1891, she was the daughter of Edward and Lillie Goldsberry Shobe. She was reared here and later married Bransford Williams of Kentucky. He preceded her in death in 1935. She is survived by a sister, Mame Crane of Wingate; two nieces, Mrs. Mark Davenport of LaGrange and Mrs. Wiley Robbins of Wingate, and two nephews, Howard Williams of Indianapolis and Kenneth Williams of Crawfordsville. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters. Services will be at 2 a.m. Saturday in the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Jean McCan officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery at Wingate. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Friday.
